The REVEL Race Series is thrilled to announce that the inaugural REVEL Rockies Marathon & Half will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2014. Organized by the creators of the REVEL Salt Lake Marathon & Half, REVEL Rockies promises to be one of the premier running courses in the West.

The REVEL Race Series specializes in events that revolve around two principal dynamics: Fast & Beautiful. The REVEL Rockies course epitomizes these dynamics. This new race features the best of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, including breathtaking views of the Mile High City, towering pines, beautiful canyons, mountain lakes, and a gently flowing stream. To top it all off, the whole course is downhill on a paved highway and the marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifying race.

The full marathon begins roughly ten miles west of Evergreen Colorado on Squaw Pass Road, and the half marathon begins in Evergreen itself, near the intersection of Stagecoach Blvd and Evergreen Parkway. Both races proceed east down Highway 74 to Bear Creek Avenue and run through the town of Morrison, eventually finishing at the world-famous Bandimere Speedway. The full marathon drops about 4,500 vertical feet and the half marathon drops about 1,600. Both courses feature a near-perfect steady downhill grade for the entirety of the race.

The REVEL Race Series is intent on ensuring that all REVEL events have a positive impact on local communities. Revel events help communities grow by offering a four-fold value proposition including (1) Economic Benefits, (2) Community Branding, (3) Health and Fitness Promotion, and (4) Charitable Giving. For more information on how the Revel Rockies Marathon & Half will benefit local communities, please visit http://www.brooksee.com/communities.

Evergreen is a hub for nonprofit organizations whose operations are focused on environmental and health-related issues. The REVEL Rockies Marathon & Half will be a valuable partner to these nonprofit groups, as a portion of each participant's entry fee will be donated to local causes. Denver is quickly becoming recognized as one of the most fitness-friendly metropolitan areas in the nation. Therefore, REVEL organizers are hopeful that the enthusiastic participant base in the Denver area will lead to a large and successful race this August.
