-Saturday, August 30th, at 6:30am with My Coach Larry

Meet at Pioneer Park, 1360 N Dalton Ave, Azusa, CA 91702.  The group will be running miles 3 - 11 of the REVEL Canyon City course.  They meet at the park, and caravan up to the start. Coach Larry will give instructions and the group will then head down. Once the group reaches the finish they will caravan the drivers back up.

The group needs to start on time because of the canyon temperatures. The park restrooms were not open the last time the group was there, so people should plan to stop elsewhere beforehand (Starbucks is nearby).

-Saturday, September 6th, at 6:00am with the Glendora Ridge Runners

The Glendora Ridge Runners will hold a REVEL Canyon City Marathon Preview. They will run 11.3 miles of the lower half (the half marathon course). Meet at the Azusa Greens Golf Course (919 W. Sierra Madre Ave, Azusa) at 6:00 AM for car pools, etc. They will drive up to the Azusa Canyon Off Road Park. From that point, the runners will run back down Hwy 39 to the Golf Course. A Forest Permit (available at local liquor stores and the ranger station) is required if you park up there. They do need drivers and people to help get runners up the canyon; some people can leave some cars up there and drive back to get them after the event.

This is an open course that will have cars on the road. There are very few cars coming down the road at this time, but there are cars on the road. Run at your own risk. Wear a bright shirt. Carry water. For those who don't want to run on the road, or who don't want to run 11 miles, there is another option. The West Fork is a quarter mile past the Offroad Park and there is a 7 mile (one way) closed course to Cogswell Dam along a beautiful river. Several people will be doing that course as well. It is out and back so it can be shortened to any distance.
