Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Jacob Saar #1157 Race: 2025 VR Zion Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Jacob's Pace? Aces All Over the Place! Jacob Saar delivered a cracking performance at the 2025 Vacation Races | Zion Half Marathon. With consistent pacing throughout the race, Jacob maintained a strong average pace of 7:21 min/mile over the 13.1-mile course. His splits reveal impressive stamina, especially between miles 1 and 4 where he steadily improved his position from 22nd to 12th overall. The last stretch showcased his determination as he wrapped up the final mile with a solid 7:23 split, finishing 1st in his age division (M25-29). Jacob's consistency in pacing is something to celebrate: out of 13 splits, ten were below 7:20, demonstrating a stable and powerful rhythm. To elevate his game further, dialing in that split at mile 11 might just turn this ten into an eleven! Brilliant job, Jacob, you're like a Route 66 vintage car—reliable and a joy to watch on the track! Keep lacing up those running shoes!
