Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Spencer Stone #1196 Race: 2025 VR Zion Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Consistent Pace, Strong Finish Spencer Stone, a runner hailing from Carlsbad, CA, gave a performance to be proud of at the 2025 Vacation Races | Zion Half Marathon. With an overall race time of 1:46:55, Spencer maintained a steady pace of 8:09 min/mile across the 13.1 miles. Beginning with a first-mile split of 8:06, Spencer gradually found his rhythm, hitting a consistent pace, demonstrating admirable pacing skills for the remainder of the race. Throughout the race, Spencer showcased impressive consistency, maintaining positions in the top 50 overall from start to finish, ultimately landing 44th out of 1,404 participants. While he navigated the course, Spencer’s pace remained steady, with notable control and only minor fluctuations in split times. A slight deceleration in the latter half may indicate an area to focus on for further improvement in endurance.
