Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Hanna Wittmack #1197 Race: 2025 VR Zion Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Pacing Confidence: A Steady March Forward! Hanna Wittmack from Cardiff By The Sea took on the 2025 Vacation Races | Zion with confidence and tenacity. Her average pace clocked in at 10:28 min/mile over the 13.1-mile distance. Hanna demonstrated an ability to maintain a consistent pace, especially shining in the latter half of the race. In particular, mile splits 5, 6, and 7 suggest a strong, consistent effort with pacing ranging from 9:59 to 10:53 min/mile. Hanna's rankings improved steadily through the event, finishing 16th in her F20-24 age division, 186th among the females, and 373rd overall out of 1404 participants. Notably, Hanna achieved her fastest split during the final mile, reminding us all of the importance of finishing strong. The ability to pick up speed later in the race is an area worth exploring further, for even greater achievements. With her current trajectory and dedication, there's lots of potential for Hanna’s future races!
