Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Beata Antos #1430 Race: 2025 VR Zion Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Consistency is Key! Beata Antos of Palos Hills, IL delivered a commendable performance in the 2025 Vacation Races at Zion. Her overall time for the half marathon was 1:55:22, translating to an impressive pace of 8:48 min/mile. Beata showcased consistency, with her splits largely hovering around this pace. Notably, she kicked off the race strong with her first mile split at 8:10 and another at the 10th mile with the same pace. Despite a slightly slower sixth mile split of 10:31, she recovered well, finishing strong. Beata had an impressive start, securing first in her division up to the second mile. Although she later dropped to fourth in the F45-49 category, her determination was evident as she maintained a strong position throughout. Ending the race as fourth in her division among 1404 participants is a testament to her strong performance. To further build on her success, focusing on maintaining a steady pace during the later miles could yield even better results. But remember, every finish line is just the beginning of a new race!
