Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Julia VanWagoner #1465 Race: 2025 VR Zion Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Consistent Strides Shine Bright Julia VanWagoner from Auburn Hills, MI, delivered a commendable performance in the 2025 Vacation Races | Zion Half Marathon. She showcased steady pacing throughout the event, completing it in 2:10:32 with an average pace of 9:57 min/mile. Starting with a solid 9:52 min/mile pace in the first mile, she maintained consistency. Notably, from mile 6 onward, Julia showed impressive progress by decreasing her split times, with a speedy 9:35 min/mile during mile 9 – her quickest mile. Julia secured a strong 27th place in her F25-29 division out of a very competitive field. She placed 134th among female participants, and 283rd overall out of 1404 participants, showcasing endurance and consistency throughout. Julia's ability to keep a steady pace is a strong asset, and continuing to build on those final miles could see even more gains in future races.
