Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Mariusz Ligeska #1479 Race: 2025 VR Zion Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Consistency and Resilience Shine in Performance Mariusz showcased impressive consistency and resilience throughout the half marathon at the 2025 Vacation Races in Zion. With a strong start, maintaining a pace of 7:00 min/mile for the first mile, he quickly settled into a steady rhythm, staying near the pace of 7:17 min/mile for much of the race. Despite a slight slowing in the latter stages, particularly marked in mile 11 with a 9:48 split, he managed to find his pace again, finishing with an overall time of 1:37:55. Remarkably, Mariusz consistently hovered near the top of his division, taking top spots in several early splits and finishing 3rd in the M Masters division. His efforts placed him 11th among male participants and 14th overall out of 1,404 participants. The final mile showed a return to form with a closing pace of 7:32 min/mile, reflecting Mariusz's ability to dig deep and push through to the finish line. The Biegosze team should be proud!
