Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Lily Ligeska #1480 Race: 2025 VR Zion Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Lily's Tenacity Shines Through Steady Pacing Lily showed resilience in the 2025 Vacation Races | Zion Half Marathon. Starting strong, she clocked an 8:45 min/mile in her first mile, placing her 7th in her division. The race unfolded like a well-orchestrated play, with Lily maintaining a laser focus on her pacing. Despite a slight slowdown in Mile 4 with a 12:04 split time, she demonstrated a disciplined recovery, settling into a consistent pace for the remainder of the race. Lily crossed the finish line with an official time of 2:14:37 and an overall pace of 10:16 min/mile. With 1,404 participants, she stood proud at 15th place in her F20-24 division. Taking note of her consistency, targeting improvements on the latter miles could help build even more strength over long distances. Keep that chin up, Lily!
