Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Brett Walker #1574 Race: 2025 VR Zion Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Brett's Consistent Prowess Shines Bright Brett Walker took to the half marathon course at the 2025 Vacation Races in Zion, showcasing remarkable stamina and consistency over the 13.1 miles. Brett finished with a strong total time of 1:41:31, maintaining an even pace with an average of 7:45 min/mile. Impressively, he earned 1st place in his division of M45-49, being a picture of steadfastness as he moved through the ranks. Throughout the race, Brett displayed a notable consistency, holding a steady pace and staying in a solid position within his division. After starting with a 7:35 min/mile, he maintained almost all splits between 7:20 and 7:56 min/mile. The last two miles saw a slight slowdown, with an 8:38 min/mile split at mile 11, but Brett quickly regained his pace. Remaining focused on his pacing strategy can help Brett tackle those uneven splits. Here's to continuing such great performances, Brett!
