Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Chayce Helms #1604 Race: 2025 VR Zion Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Chayce Rocks His Division in Style! Chayce Helms from Harrison, Ohio ran the 2025 Vacation Races | Zion Half Marathon with heart and 22 years of energy. Right from the first mile, he set a strong pace of 7:03 min/mile, showing up with determination. Through the race, Chayce's commitment shone brightly, clinching first place in the M20-24 division. His splits saw some shifts; the fastest being the first mile and the slowest in mile 11 at 8:55 min/mile. Despite this slight decrease in pace, he kept his cool, completing the challenging half marathon with an overall time of 1:39:55. Among 1404 participants, finishing 17th overall is something to be proud of! To polish this performance even further, focusing on maintaining a more consistent pace, especially in the later miles, could be a game-changer. Keep that spirit high, Chayce!
