Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Riley Corbitt #1824 Race: 2025 VR Zion Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

A Steady Rise to Victory Lane Riley Corbitt from Beaverton, OR, really hit it out of the park at the 2025 Vacation Races | Zion Half Marathon, finishing with an impressive total time of 1:36:22. Consistency was key for Riley, maintaining a steady pace of 7:21 min/mile over 13.1 miles. Riley started strong with a 7:19 mile and found room to push a touch faster in later miles, reaching a swift peak with a 7:03 pace at the 12-mile mark. Now, that’s what I call some great pacing insight! Throughout the race, Riley demonstrated a knack for holding steady and gradually climbing the rankings, eventually securing 9th place overall and claiming the top spot in the M25-29 age division. The shift from supporting cast to main act happened most prominently between miles 11, with an 8:08 pace slowing things just a bit, to mile 13 with a closing 7:07 pace. Keep that spirit and momentum, and great things are bound to happen!
