Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Andrzej Greczek #1920 Race: 2025 VR Zion Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

A Consistent Pace and a Stellar Finish Andrzej Greczek, hailing from Hickory Hills, IL, demonstrated grit and determination in the 2025 Vacation Races | Zion Half Marathon. As he conquered 13.1 miles, Andrzej maintained an impressive average pace of 7:46 min/mile, earning him first place in the M60-64 division. It's clear as mustard on a hotdog, that his split strategy was consistently paced with most miles right around that sweet 7:30 mark. This consistency exemplifies his experience and strategy on the course. Despite a slight slowdown in the last couple of miles, where his pace increased to around 8:09 min/mile, Andrzej managed to secure an impressive overall ranking at 22nd out of 1,404 participants. While the dropping pace in the final leg suggests potential for more strategic pacing towards the end, his legendary performance in his age group is deserving of praise. Keep nurturing that competitive spirit, and good times will surely continue ahead!
