Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Nicolas Jeangeorges #2111 Race: 2025 VR Zion Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Consistency Leads to Division Victory! Nicolas Jeangeorges, the 34-year-old running sensation from Strassen, raced through the Zion Half Marathon like a champion tetherball player, securing 1st place in the M30-34 division! That’s right, folks, he kept his energy steady and his pace consistent, averaging 7:30 minutes per mile over the 13.1-mile stretch. He completed the race in 1:38:21, placing him 15th overall out of a total of 1,404 participants. That's top percentile, y'all! In the early miles, he kicked off strong with a 7:10 minute mile, and though his pace fluctuated just a tad, from a brisk 7:13 to 7:48 per mile, he swiftly adjusted back with mile 9 picking up a peppy 7:15. Not only did Nicolas demonstrate a masterclass in pacing, he proved he could hang tight with the elites by finishing 12th in gender. Next step? Keeping that pace fierce and perhaps tightening the splits even more to aim for an overall placement boost. Keep lacing those kicks, Nicolas!
