Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Connor Byers #2207 Race: 2025 VR Zion Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Connor Keeps it Consistent, Laps Up the Learning! Connor from Marina Del Rey put on a steady performance in the 2025 Vacation Races | Zion Half Marathon, clocking in at 2:17:52. Starting strong, Connor maintained a sub-9-minute pace for the first mile at 8:44. Although he settled into the middle of the pack, notably finishing 24th in the M20-24 division, Connor’s pacing journey showed areas to develop, especially between the 6th and 7th mile markers, where his pace shifted to 10:11 per mile. With an overall pace of 10:31 per mile, Connor's performance was nothing short of a consistent effort. The early miles kept him within striking distance, and he showed resilience even as the pace fluctuated, starting with a 71st place in men's position out of the gate. As a first-time contender in this race, his ability to hold a steady pace will be invaluable in future runs. Keep the chin up, Connor, and let’s keep moving forward!
