Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Raquel Buscaino #2208 Race: 2025 VR Zion Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Strong Start with Solid Finish Raquel left her mark on the 2025 Vacation Races | Zion Half Marathon, representing "Team Hedgy" with determination. Kicking off the race with an impressive first mile at a 10:06 min/mile pace, she quickly found her stride in the second mile, dropping her pace to an impressive 9:03 min/mile. By the third mile, she was cruising along at a consistent 9:30 min/mile, clearly pushing her limits. As the race progressed, Raquel encountered a gradual increase in her split times, exemplified in the fourth mile with a 10:38 min/mile pace. The latter miles saw a steady shift to a slower pace, culminating in her final elapsed time of 2:19:40 at an average 10:39 min/mile. She placed 51st in her division, maintaining a strong position throughout the event. Raquel demonstrated great endurance, but there's room to smooth out those latter miles. Keep up the great work!
