Way to go, AMY! What a great achievement!
In May of 2011, I lost my dad to a 6 year battle with cancer. It rocked my world and put me in a place that I was ultimately not myself. Later that year, in December 2011, two days before Christmas, I was diagnosed with Lupus. It was a tough road of doctor visits, tests, and medications, but I had the support around me that I needed. After my medication was leveled out and I began to feel better, I picked up running in March 2013. It was a journey of learning to love running, and using it as my outlet to help me feel better in the long run. I ran my first half this past March and Canyon City will be my first full. Since starting this journey of healthy living and running, I am completely off my Lupus medication and have never felt better! Running has allowed me to grow and thrive and I am so grateful for the sport!
