Consistent Start, Slower Finish Juan Carlos Magana Jr, representing Contractors Warehouse, completed the 2025 Mountains 2 Beach Half Marathon with a time of 1:58:42, averaging a pace of 9:03 min/mile. His early performance showed promising consistency, maintaining an average pace of around 8:28 min/mile in the first four miles. A standout performance was seen in mile 5, clocking his fastest split pace of 8:15 min/mile. In the latter part of the race, Juan Carlos experienced a gradual slowing, with the pace dropping from mile 10 onwards, where his mile split peaked at 10:17 min/mile in mile 11 and 11:11 min/mile in mile 13. His overall placement was 520th out of 1697 participants, 310th among males, and 31st in his division of M20-24. Focusing on maintaining a more consistent pace throughout the entire race could be beneficial for future events, especially focusing on the middle and later miles.
