Steady Start, Slower Finish in Marathon Performance Erik Hasan from Simi Valley, CA, demonstrated a strong beginning in his marathon race, maintaining a consistent pace of approximately 10:21 min/mile during the early miles. By the 5-mile mark, Erik had improved his split time to 9:43 min/mile, a promising increase in speed. Notably, at the halfway point, Erik achieved an elapsed time of 2:03:21 at mile 12, setting a strong pace for the first half of the race. As the race progressed, Erik's pace decayed slightly, reaching an average pace of 12:15 min/mile by mile 25. Despite this deceleration, Erik’s final time was 5:20:22, resulting in a placement of 948th out of 2277 male participants and 174th in his age division. To improve future performances, concentrating on sustaining pace in the latter stages of races and consistent training on endurance could be beneficial. Joining "Not Fast Just Furious" is a great motivational choice.
