Consistent Performance and Strong Finish in Marathon Ashley Mochizuki maintained a consistent pace throughout the 2025 Mountains 2 Beach Marathon. Her steady progression is evident from an initial pace of 9:23 min/mile, gradually improving to an 8:48 min/mile overall pace by race end. Remarkably, Ashley closed with an 8:37 min/mile split within the final mile. Consistency was a standout, with her pace consistently around the 8:48 to 8:49 min/mile range in the later miles. This consistent performance is reflected in a strong place of 65th in her division of F25-29. While starting slightly slower in early splits, Ashley demonstrated improved placement as the race progressed. From being 81st in her division at mile 1, her strategic pacing saw her finish in the top third of her age division at 65th. This held steady improvement suggests potential for increased early race pace. Joining the Pasadena Pacers has clearly been beneficial, reflecting in an overall placing of 875th out of 2277 participants.
