Consistent Pace and Stellar Division Placement Melissa maintained an impressive average pace of 7:10 min/mile throughout the 2025 Mountains 2 Beach Marathon. Consistency was key, with many splits close to her average pace, particularly from mile 5 to mile 13, demonstrating strong endurance. This steady pace helped her secure a solid 3rd place in the F45-49 division, showcasing her strength and discipline. Improvement opportunities can be found in the later miles, where incremental slowdowns occurred. For instance, the 24th mile showed a split of 7:23 min/mile, the slowest of the race. Focus on stamina during the last third of the marathon could further enhance her performance. Nevertheless, finishing 22nd in her gender out of 2277 participants is commendable, and her results reflect focused training and determination. Keep up this level of performance, Melissa, and consider working on building more edge for those final miles in future races.
