His position among male runners was 866th in a field of 2277 participants, showing consistent pacing throughout the race, especially in the second half. James started with a steady pace of 10:45 min/mile for the first two miles, managing to maintain similar splits despite some fluctuations in the middle parts of the race. There was a noticeable improvement during miles 9 and 10 with a quicker pace of 10:23 min/mile.
