Consistent Start, Gradual Slowdown Phillip Kim maintained a solid pace at the start of the 2025 Mountains 2 Beach Half Marathon, clocking a 7:30 min/mile for the first mile. Maintaining a position within the top 150 overall, Kim executed a robust start with each of the first three splits averaging below 8:00 min/mile. His strongest division performance was at mile one, achieving 14th in the M25-29 category. As the miles progressed, a gradual slowdown was observed, with splits increasing to the 8:00-8:42 min/mile range after mile six. Though Phillip finished 33rd in his division, a more consistent pace in the latter half could improve overall performance. Following his first half marathon, focusing on sustaining the strong early pace throughout may improve future race times. Participating as part of the BLRC team, Phillip concluded his race in 1:51:45, holding 220th place among all male competitors.
