Consistent Start, Challenging Finish Emily Rice demonstrated solid performance throughout the 2025 Mountains 2 Beach Half Marathon. Representing the Brews Brothers Running Club, she maintained a consistent pace from the start, with her strongest mile at an 8:05-minute pace. Over the first half of the race, her times held notably steady, ranging from 8:05 to 8:48 minutes per mile. At the 5-mile mark, her overall position was 394, illustrating a competitive start. However, from the 6th mile onward, Emily's pace began to slacken slightly, climbing to a maximum of a 10:51-minute mile by the 11th mile. This reduction in speed, although common in endurance events, resulted in her overall finishing time of 2:02:51 and placed her 611th out of 1,697 participants. Key focus could be placed on endurance training in the later stages of longer races to maintain early momentum. Impressive commitment to the race and team representation.
