Consistent Pace Yields Top Division Finish Bill Blackford demonstrated outstanding pacing and determination in the 2025 Bridge to Brews 5K in Portland. Achieving first in his division (M60-64), Bill maintained consistent improvement across each mile. Starting with a 7:58 min/mile pace over the first mile, he accelerated to a 7:34 min/mile in the second. Impressively, he further reduced his pace to 7:27 min/mile in the third mile, completing the 3.16-mile course with a strong overall pace of 7:35 min/mile. With each mile split faster than the last, Bill's performance was both strategic and strong. He finished 11th overall in his gender and secured 13th place overall among 434 participants. Bill's race strategy was commendable, with particular strength in maintaining a consistent pace throughout the race while progressively improving.
