Goldilocks also takes care of her participants providing fully stocked rest stops, a dispatch phone number with operators to assist if you need help along the course, SAG vehicles roving the entire course if you need to be transported, and a delicious catered meal, and many, many Momma and Papa Bear volunteers throughout the course. Papa BearsDue to repeated requests from Goldilocks participants wishing to ride with their favorite male riding/running companions, Goldilocks now reserves 100 registrations for Papa Bears. These special participants enjoy the same event as the rest of the Goldilocks flock and, assists the gals if or when they are needed along the course. As thanks for their watchful eye on the course, they not only get the same sweet swag, food and t-shirt, but also get a specialized Papa Bear jersey or Tech Shirt included at no additional charge with their registration. They are given tubes, CO2 cartridges, and a Papa Bear Jersey at Packet Pickup. If your man is interested in being a Papa Bear, he needs to register for the event, just like you. We keep track of how many MALES register for the event, and cut it off at 100. Rest StopsExpect to see a rest stop or aid station with portable restrooms every 10-20 miles if cycling, or 2 miles if running, along the course. All cycling rest stops are stocked with fresh fruit, Swedish fish, pretzels, Wheat Thins, hard candy, Fig Newtons, Oreos, licorice, pickles, PB&J, water and Gatorade. All running aid stations are stocked with fresh fruit, gels, water and Gatorade. Love and Encouragement also provided. ShirtGoldilocks designs her own custom tee shirt every year. Expect this event tee to be your favorite! She knows just what women want and always comes through providing a soft, extra-long, women specific shirt. It’s the one you’ll want to wear every day! If the shirt you order doesn’t fit the way you expect, you can exchange it at the event. Goldilocks orders lots of extra shirts and most the time can exchange it for one that is 'just right'. Occasionally we run out of certain sizes, but we’ll do what we can to make it right. Event PhotosGoldilocks thinks highlight photos should be FREE! We hire the best photographers to be at the finish line and multiple locations along the course. Be sure to smile big and strike a pose for the cameras. Make sure your bib is visible so we know who is in each photo. Photos will be made available a week or so after the ride. Finisher JewelryGoldilocks awards her finishers with a darling hand-crafted finisher's necklace as they cross the finish line. Dress up your necklace at the Goldilocks event shop with charms that personalize your finisher’s necklaces with your ride distance, birthstone or a number of inspirational phrases. If you have completed a previous Goldilocks, feel free to exchange your finisher necklace for another variant in the store near the finish line. Age/Equipment Limitations & RequirementsGoldilocks is open to all females who can finish the course in the allotted amount of time, and under their own power, before the course sections close. SAG ServicesPart of our fully supported event means if you have a problem on the course, or can’t continue, we’ll provide support to help you solve it or bring you and your bike (if applicable) back to the finish line. We’ll have Papa Bears on the course to assist with minor problems. We’ll have marked roving vehicles if transport is necessary. Bike Mechanics will also be stationed at rest stops. Tracking and ResultsAlthough Goldilocks is a completely non-competitive event, ride bib numbers do have timing chips inside. As you cross the finish line, your time will be noted and you will be presented with a beautifully designed timing card memento at the finish line. Event ExpoDon’t forget to save time to walk through the vendor booths after your ride. The best hours to catch the expo in full-swing are from 10am to 3pm. Some vendors may come earlier or stick around later. If you want to peruse the vendor booths, make arrangements to be there during those hours. Finish Line Festivities/SpectatorsNo one wants to finish a race with no fanfare. Goldilocks knows how to throw a party and the event wouldn’t be the same without family and friends to cheer on participants as you cross the finish line. Be sure to invite your family members to the finish line. There will be something for everyone! Cowbells will be available for spectators to ring at no charge. You might also find free face painters, live music, food trucks, vendors and a carnival like atmosphere. Each Goldilocks event is different, but organizers always do their best to make it fun and family friendly! BathroomsThe start line and all the rest stops have plenty of glamorous, clean portable restrooms. True-Fit JerseysGoldilocks is known for being the only true-fit cycling jersey that fits real women. We've gone to a lot of trouble to perfect a pattern sure to flatter every woman! Feel confident to order a jersey in whatever size you’d buy for yourself at the store. The jersey is silky, extra-long, and features a full-zip and grip tape. It is available for a discounted price with your ride registration or can be purchased anytime at our on-line shop. Although sizes may be limited, jerseys will also be available for sale at packet pick-up and at the event. Transfer or WithdrawGoldilocks understands that life is unpredictable and that plans sometimes need to be changed. The withdrawal policy allows you to withdraw from the ride or transfer your registration to another person and get a full refund minus a small transaction fee. Visit her withdraw/transfer page for more details or to complete the process. Change Your DistanceNo matter what you registered for, at packet pickup, cyclists may let the volunteer know which mileage they want to ride. Runners may drop to a lower distance for no fee, and may increase to the half marathon for a $25 fee (if the event is not sold out). The CauseGoldilocks knows her participants like to ride for a cause! Hair donations are collected at each event. Donations are used to make real-hair wigs for women and children who otherwise could not afford them. |
